Through exploration of all the different tools, I had originally signed up for the Screencast.com, however after signing up, the website continued to say error and was unable to upload content or even get to the site. I had then explored Voki and decided to use it to create a short podcast. Out of the different podcasting tools, Soundcloud is familiar to me, but more so for music purposes rather than podcasts. I decided on Voki because it offered the text to speech aspect which I liked. It's also a fun tool that allows you to customize your character and background in a fun way as well.
Podcasts can be a great tool that can be used for several different purposes whether it be for academic or social reasons to discuss and communicate about a particular interest or topic. These podcasts or screencast tools offer an alternative source or outlet to present information through verbal communication. As slideshows are generally just audio, screencasts have the visual aspect and verbal as well. This could allow for more verbal explanation that helps with getting more across rather than being limited to minimal text and visuals.
There is also the digital responsibility that comes along with creating podcasts or screencasts which is to be aware of the language being used, or even the types of topics in which are being discussed.
